There has been significant interest in the personal life of Alice Guo, the former mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, particularly concerning rumors about her romantic relationships. During Senate hearings related to her alleged involvement in illegal offshore gaming operations (POGOs), questions about her supposed connection to Sual, Pangasinan Mayor Liseldo Calugay came up.
Senator Jinggoy Estrada brought up the topic, asking Guo if she had a romantic relationship with Calugay, suggesting that he might have been involved in running POGOs with her. However, Guo denied these claims, insisting that she and Calugay are only friends and that she has no romantic partner. Despite photos showing them together at events, including a “Kasalan sa Bayan” ceremony and flowers allegedly from Calugay, Guo reiterated that their relationship is purely platonic.
The discussion even extended to a business named “Alisel Aqua Farm,” which some believed could be a joint venture between Guo and Calugay. The name was seen as a combination of their first names, but Guo denied owning any aquafarm or being involved in such a venture with Calugay.
These personal speculations have added complexity to the broader investigations into Guo’s activities, but she remains firm in denying any romantic involvement with Mayor Calugay.
